Our approach

How we can help

Direct therapy, family support, and professional collaboration — all under one roof.

  • In-Center ABA Therapy

One-to-one ABA therapy in our Frisco center, built around your child's individual goals — communication, social skills, independence, and daily living.

  • Parent Training

Practical, evidence-based strategies you can use in everyday situations — understanding your child's behavior, strengthening communication, and responding confidently to challenges at home and in the community.

  • School Consulting

Collaboration with schools, teachers, and educational teams to build effective behavioral and learning strategies that support communication, independence, social skills, and classroom participation.

  • Advocacy & Family Support

Navigating services can feel overwhelming. We help families understand their child's needs, communicate effectively with providers and school teams, and make informed decisions about care.

  • Supervision for Future BCBAs

Independent supervision for individuals pursuing BCBA certification — building practical skills, strengthening clinical reasoning, and connecting coursework to real-world practice, based on the BACB fieldwork task list.

Meet Rachel

SunRay ABA grew out of nearly ten years spent working with children and families across schools, centers, homes, and day habilitation programs — and out of a conviction that families deserve to feel supported, heard, and respected throughout. Rachel founded SunRay to build exactly that: a place centered on individualized care, real collaboration with families, and the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their fullest potential.

Common questions

What is ABA therapy?

Applied Behavior Analysis is an evidence-based approach to understanding how children learn and what helps them succeed. In practice it means looking closely at what a child can already do, what they're working toward, and what's getting in the way — then teaching skills in small, achievable steps. Good ABA is not only about reducing difficult behavior; it's about building communication, independence, social connection, and confidence.

What ages do you work with?

We work with children, adolescents, and young adults from ages 2 through 21.

Does my child need a diagnosis before we start?

For ABA therapy funded by insurance, a formal diagnosis and a referral from a doctor or psychologist are generally required — plans differ, and we can walk you through what yours needs. For parent training, school consultation, and advocacy, a diagnosis often isn't necessary. If you're unsure where you stand, reach out; helping families figure out the next step is part of what we do.

Do you accept my insurance?

We're currently completing credentialing with major insurance plans in Texas, including Medicaid and TRICARE. Coverage depends on your specific plan's benefits, eligibility, and authorization requirements. Contact us with your plan information and we'll tell you honestly where things stand and what your options are today.

How many hours a week will my child attend?

It depends on your child's needs and goals, and on what their insurance plan authorizes. Some children benefit from a few focused hours each week; others do better with a fuller schedule. We'll recommend what we believe is right for your child and explain our reasoning — you're always part of that decision.

What happens at the first consultation?

Mostly, we listen. We'll talk about your child's current needs and what concerns you, your family's goals and priorities, any services they're already receiving, and challenges at home or school. From there we'll walk you through the options and recommend next steps. There's no obligation and no cost to have the conversation.

Where do sessions take place?

Direct ABA therapy takes place at our center in Frisco, in a space set up for learning and for children to feel comfortable. School consultation happens at your child's school, and parent training can be arranged in whichever setting works best for your family.

Will I be involved in my child's therapy?

Yes, and it matters. Children make the most progress when the strategies that work in session also work at home. We'll keep you informed about what we're working on and why, and give you practical tools to use in everyday moments.
